The KF and the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) will jointly conduct the 2018 KF-Russia Next Generation Policy Experts Study Tour to Korea on November 18–23. The tour program will bring 11 experts led by former Russian Ambassador to Korea Gleb Ivashentsov. During their visit, the participants will have discussions with Korean experts on Korea-Russia cooperation, the political situation on the Korean Peninsula, and future directions for the development of the bilateral relationship. They will also hold talks at related institutions and explore the demilitarized zone to promote their understanding of Korea and build more positive cooperation for the future.
The KF-Russia Next Generation Policy Expert Network is a program for next-generation Russian policy experts majoring in East Asian studies and diplomacy and security on and around the Korean Peninsula. The program gives participants a better picture of the Korean government’s policies pertaining to the peninsula and Korea-Russia ties. The tour supplements the 2018 KF-Russia Next Generation Policy Experts Forum held in Moscow last February under the theme of “Political Changes in Northeast Asia and Future-Oriented Korea-Russia Relations.”
