Push for Qualitative Evolution of Korean Studies on a Global Scale
After presenting a successful KF Korean Studies Assembly 2015 in July, the KF has evaluated the outcomes of Korean Studies, by region as well as by field, in order to refine the future direction for Korean Studies with the KF’s continued support. In particular, it was emphasized that Korean Studies on a global scale should focus on ways to realize not only quantitative expansion but qualitative enhancement as well. The KF will thus implement its 2016 Korean Studies program by incorporating various pertinent suggestions, including efforts to coordinate qualitative growth with the nation’s diplomatic interests.

Customized Korean Studies Programs to Match Diverse Interests
The KF will provide regionally customized Korean Studies/Korean language education that is designed to match the particular demands of Korea’s diplomatic missions and local Korean Studies institutes/associations. In addition, the KF will strive to activate regional exchanges to boost the sharing of academic manpower and resources. As such, the KF intends to reinforce the human resources and institutional framework of Global Korea-related education/research to assure notable development of all relevant sectors. In line with the ongoing digital era, the KF will continue to strengthen the online programs of the KF Global e-School. Moreover, the current Fellowship programs will be further strengthened to nurture the next generation of Korean specialists in various regions and fields. Along with these efforts, the KF will steadily expand its worldwide network of Korean Studies academics and students.
