Culture and Arts Department

Korea Festival
The 2016 Korea Festival is being presented to introduce aspects of Korean culture to designated regions of Asia, which have recently emerged as vital pivot points of the region’s economic, security, political, and cultural development.
In line with the expertise and global network relations that it has acquired over the past 25 years, the KF will offer an array of cultural events, including performances, exhibitions, academic conferences, international forums, and community outreach initiatives, for the peoples of the Asian community.

Contribute to the International Community through Cultural Exchange
The KF strives to utilize exchange in the culture and arts, along with volunteer endeavors, to help address key global issues, including children’s and women’s rights, education, and environmental conservation, in order to bolster Korea’s standing in the international community.

Cultural and Artistic Partnerships
By working closely with the Korean embassies and cultural/artistic institutions abroad, the KF seeks to advance its public diplomacy efforts through active cultural and artistic exchange. In particular, the KF intends to reinforce Korea’s rising status in the international community by expanding its endeavors that contribute to global development and world peace.

Support for Overseas Museums
The KF intends to present exhibitions and educational programs that utilize the Korean galleries within overseas museums. The Korea-China Contemporary Art Exhibition, which was held in China in 2015, will be shown in Korea in 2016, while curators from the Asian region will be invited to attend a workshop program on Korean art.
