Korea-Japan Youth Exchange

The Korea Foundation is inviting a group of 30 Japanese university students (including a group leader from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan) to visit Korea from September 10 to 19, 2014. This program was launched after being agreed upon at the fifth Korea-Japan Ministerial Meeting in 1971. Under this program, the two countries have been implementing university student exchange visits since 1972 based on a principle of reciprocity. As such, students from the two countries, which are said to be so close but seem so distant, have a chance to explore cultural attractions, visit related organizations, and take part in exchange programs like homestays and student gettogethers, for the purpose of acquiring a better understanding of each other’s culture and history. Now in its 43rd year of operation, this program is expected to further reinforce a foundation for the cooperative relations of future generations in Korea and Japan.
