7th Seoul-Washington Forum

The Seventh Seoul-Washington Forum, a dialogue channel for private-level communication between Korea and the United States, will be held in Washington, D.C., on September 18, 2014. The Seoul-Washington Forum serves to facilitate wide-ranging discussion among key Korean and American representatives from all sectors, who get together to share their diverse opinions about pending issues and policy measures of mutual concern. Since its launch in 2006, annual sessions have been held in Washington, D.C. Jointly organized by the Korea Foundation and the Brookings Institution (Strobe Talbott, president), this forum includes public sessions attended by relevant U.S. government officials and members of think tank groups, universities, and media organizations in the U.S. The final session is a closed-door meeting at which members evaluate the various proposals of the gathering and offer practical suggestions for the formulation of more effective policy initiatives.
