2014 Korea Festival in Kazakhstan,
Uzbekistan, Russia, and Belarus

The Korea Festival—a diverse cultural program that promotes Korea through such activities as exhibitions, performances, lectures on Korean Studies, and workshops on Korean-language instruction, together with corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives—has been staged in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in the first half of the year, and will be presented in Russia and Belarus in the second half of 2014. Starting with Brazil in 2012, the Korea Festival program has also been successfully presented in six member states of ASEAN in 2013 (Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam).

Arirang—The Soul of Korea Exhibition

Arirang—The Soul of Korea, an exhibition at the National Folk Museum of Korea that deals comprehensively with Korea’s best known folk song “Arirang,” is being shown in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. This exhibition will present the history of the song and related aspects from the everyday lives of the Korean people over the years.

Fly Up: B-Boy, Popping Dance, and Percussion
Performance

This concert will treat audiences in Russia and Belarus to the mesmerizing dance moves and powerful, pulsating rhythms of Gamblerz Crew, a Korean B-boy team; Animation Crew, a popping team; and DoDo, a female ensemble of traditional drummers.
