The 3rd Korea-Japan Journalist Dialogue

The Korea Foundation and the Japan Institute of International Affairs hosted the 3rd Korea-Japan Dialogue for Journalists on October 21-22. The program was launched in 2011, intending to forge a future-oriented relationship between the two countries through the formation of a network of major journalists from both countries.

37 journalists and academics from both countries participated this year and engaged in a discussion over "How Korea and Japan See Each Other, Viewed from the Perspective of the Media." Sessions like "Outlook on the Strategic Environment of East Asia" offered participants an opportunity to engage in open and candid discussions. An especially notable session was titled "Dialogue with Young Students, Leaders of the Next Generation," which enabled students and journalists from both countries to discuss the key issues affecting both countries. It was a scene of true public diplomacy at work.
