KF Staff Volunteer Activity for Nature Conservation

In concert with the Facility Maintenance Corporation of the city of Pocheon, the Korea Foundation organized a volunteer activity picking up trash at Sanjeong Lake on July 12. After wrapping up a workshop from July 11 to 12, a total of 70 foundation staff, including Korea Foundation President Yu Hyun-seok, participated enthusiastically in the volunteering project to preserve the beautiful scenery around Sanjeong Lake despite the nasty weather. The workshop and the volunteering activity reminded the entire staff that they should come together to help the foundation become even better. The activity was a meaningful time for the staff to do their part to conserve the precious resource of nature.

In the first half of the year, KF staff handed out coal briquettes in Jangji-dong along with the Movement to Share Coal Briquettes of Love and worked with the Volunteering Center at the Seocho-gu District Office to make an urban garden on a local road near Nambu Sunhwan-ro. KF staff also took part in volunteer activities for old people at the Seocho-gu Central Welfare Center for the Elderly and the Anyang Elderly Retirement Center. The Korea Foundation is planning to keep carrying out volunteer activities that contribute to local society in the future as well.
