The 26th AKSE Korean Studies Conference

The 26th conference of the Association for Korean Studies in Europe (AKSE) will be taking place in Vienna, Austria. A total of forty sessions are scheduled to be held at the conference. These sessions will feature presentations on a variety of topics related to Korean studies including Korean language, culture, history, society, religion, philosophy, politics, and economy. Hyun-seok Yu, president of the Korea Foundation, is expected to host a welcome luncheon and reception for participants at the conference, where he will deliver a motivational address to scholars of Korean studies.

The AKSE was founded in 1977 under the leadership of 31 scholars of Korean studies from Leiden University, SOAS University of London, and Paris Diderot University (University of Paris VII) to foster the development of Korean studies in Europe. The Korea Foundation supports the academic activities of the AKSE each year and contributes to the development of Korean studies through the Exchange Programme of European Lecturers (EPEL) and workshops for graduate students.
